Heres to first times, like first impressions. Even though our's weren't amazing our eyes didn't meet across the room and start gazing as time slows and violins or Celine Dion starts playing somewhere in the background, for whatever reason. No. This is real life and the reality is I could not remember your name for the first year. My first apology. Sorry. Here's to the first conversation, the first question at the first end of the first sentence. 'H' the first letter of the first word, 'I' follows. I followed, the words from your lips through your breath in the air to my right ear. Hi, how are you?. The first time I noticed you, like really noticed you. The first hug goodbye, the first stomach butterfly. The first smile that was meant just for me. The first kiss, the first 'I love you' followed by the sequel 'I love you 2'. The first, you know what. The first time I woke up and you were there, not physically but you were there and have been since. Here's to the first argument that we have yet to have and the first make up that would follow. The first text that read 'Hey, do you like poetry?'. Ironic. The first sign of trust, the first lie that will never leave my lips in your direction. Maybe that was it. The first tear, the first laugh, the first time I couldn't picture my future without you in it. The first joke, that you took the wrong way and almost never spoke to me again. The first second chance, the first glance into our lives without us being an us and having all these firsts. The first compliment. 'You are beautiful'. The first truthful compliment. 'You are beautiful'. The first thing I'd change about you, I'll have to get back to you when I can think of something. The first, 'you first I insist'. The first time I realised it was you that I missed. The first piece of bliss and this. The first poem i've ever written lets add that to the list.
